Byron Beisbier, 85, of West Bend, formerly of St. Kilian, died Thursday morning, Oct. 14, 2004, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital, West Bend.
He was born on May 13, 1919, in the Town of Ashford, the son of Philip and Anna Jaeger Beisbier.
On Aug 22, 1944, he married Beulah Westerman at St. Bridget's Catholic Church in the Town of Wayne. They celebrated their 60th anniversary in August.
Byron farmed in the Town of Ashford and was employed at Amity Leather Products in West Bend for 18 years before retiring on April 1, 1983. He was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Church, West Bend, and a former member of St. Kilian Catholic Church, St. Kilian, where he was a member for 84 years. At St. Kilian, he was a charter member of the Holy Name Society, to which he belonged for 60 years, was a commentator of the liturgy, a Eucharistic minister and a member of the Ushers Club. Byron was a 3rd and 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 664, Fond du Lac, and a member of the Archdiocesean Apostulate of the Suffering for many years. Also, he umpired softball games, enjoyed music and was an avid dancer.
Survivors include his wife, Beulah; his children, Philip (Kathie) of Campbellsport, Pamela (Tom) Bauer of Campbellsport and Katherine (Eric) Lentz of West Bend; his grandchildren, Brad (Tera) Beisbier, Anna (Brandon) Kooi, Kelly Bauer, Matthew Bauer, Jared Lentz and Krista Lentz; his great-grandchildren, Drew Byron Kooi, Ella Kooi and Bennett Beisbier; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Roman Hartmann of Kewaskum, Cyril and Priscilla Westerman of West Bend and Harold and Lilly Westerman of Kewaskum; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Angela.
• Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2004, at St. Kilian Catholic Church, St. Kilian. The Rev Neil Zinthefer and the Rev. Walter Morgan will officiate, and burial will be on Sunday at St. Matthew's Cemetery, Campbellsport.
• Visitation: Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2004, at the church.
