John Lewis Beaver, 70. of Floyd, died Monday July 5. 2004 at Skyline Manor Nursing Home.
He was an army Veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Rosa B. Beaver, Floyd; one son. Kenneth Leroy Via, Floyd; two daughters, Gwendolyn Via. Christiansburg, Charlotte Via Scott, Floyd; five stepchildren, Theron Calfee, Atlanta, Ga., Terry Jones, Roanoke, Connie Basham, Troutville. Teresa Sherman. Christiansburg, Tammy Calfee, Albuquerque, NM; two—grandchildren Kenisha Via, Ashanti Via; three sisters, Kitty Huff, Treva Claytor, Floyd, Loretta Stigger, Radford; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2004 at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Henry A. Lindsey and Roy Turpin officiating. Burial will be in the Big Oak Cemetery with Military rites by Floyd V.F.W. Post #7854 and American Lesion Post #124. Visitation will be one hour prior to Funeral Service at the funeral home.
