LUCILLE SMITH "LUCY" ALLUMS, age 85, of Bagley, passed away at home on Wednesday, August 31, 2011. She was born on September 8, 1925. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Auston Smith, and her brothers Roland, Auldin "Champ", and W.A. "Shorty" Smith.
Funeral service Saturday, September 3, 2011, burial in McCormack Cemetery.
Mrs. Allums was raised in the Bagley community, and was a 1943 graduate of Corner High School. Her many community activities include serving as Bagley Girls' 4-H Club leader for fourteen years and as the president of the Jefferson County Council of Extension Homemakers Clubs for two years. She enjoyed participating in the Bagley Extension Homemakers Club for many years. She was also a founding board member of the McCormack Cemetery Fund.
Mrs. Allums was a faithful member of Liberty Primitive Baptist Church in Dora all of her adult life. Her devotion to and love for her church family exemplified Psalm 122:1 "I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the lord."
