The Rev. Vincent Parr will officiate at solemn funeral services this morning (Thursday) at 10 a.m. for Lawrence B. Bergman, who died Monday morning. The rites will be conducted in St. Johns Catholic Church, Maria Stein, with burial to follow in the church Cemetery.

Mr. Bergman, a retired farmer, died at 8 a.m. Monday at the Greenville Care Center where he had been a patient for eleven weeks after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage. He had been in ill health the past five years.

Mr. Bergman was born August 9, 1892, a son of the late Stephen and Anna Mary Evers Bergman. He spent his entire lifetime on the family farm located one and a half miles south of Maria Stein on St. Johns Rd.

On June 16, 1920, he married Frances Bruns who survives with three daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Ann Marie) Osterloh of Minster, Mrs. Thomas (Irene) Minch of Xenia and Mrs. Robert (Theresa) Willhof of Brandt; Six sons Richard of New Bremen, Marinus of Tipp City, Raymond and Othmer of Dayton, Eugene of Maria Stein and Lawrence Jr. of Mason. There are two brothers, George of Maria Stein and August of Osgood and a sister, Mrs. Rose Meiring of Dayton. Four brothers and one sister preceded him in death. Survivors also include 26 grandchildren.

Mr. Bergman was a World War I veteran.

The Hogenkamp Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
