Lenhardtsville, Feb. 21 -Chester L. Adam, 70, died this morning in his residence in this community.
Born in Richmond Twp, a son of Franklin and Hettie (Stine) Adam, he was employed by the Reading Co. for 40 years, retiring several years ago. His first wife, Bessie (Smith) Adam died 18 years ago.
Adam was a member of Frieden's United Church of Christ, and Washington Camp, POS of A, both of this place, and the Union Fire Co. of Hamburg.
Surviving are his second wife, Annie F. (Wink) Adam, a daughter, Jane, wife of Harry Dech, Laureldale; two stepsons, Clarence D., Seabrign, Fla., and Medardus, Kempton R.D. 2; a stepdaughter, Marion, wife of Pershing Hamm, Kempton R.D. 2; and two brothers, Howard S., Millmont, Union Co., and Herbert S., Kutztown.
Funeral services will be held in Frieden's UCC on Sunday at 2 p.m., the Rev, Charles W. Buffington and Charles Neiswender officiating. Burial will be made in the adjoining cemetery. The Leibensperger Funeral Home, Hamburg, has charge.
