Funeral services for Ignacio Aguilar of Carrizo Springs were held Friday, December 30, 2005, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Carrizo Springs at 1:00 p.m. Mr. Aguilar was born February 1, 1921 to Mateo and Eduarda (Munoz) Aguilar in Pearsall, Texas, but had lived most of his life in Carrizo Springs. He died very suddenly the previous Tuesday evening at the Dimmit Memorial Hospital at the age of 84.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita R. Aguilar of Carrizo Springs; three daughters, Mary Jane Flores of Carrizo Springs, Angela Diaz of Carrizo Springs, and Guadalupe Vega of Carrizo Springs; two brothers, Martin Aguilar of Wisconsin, and Juan Contreras of North Dakota; 38 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren and other relatives. He was preceded in death by two sons, Everardo Aguilar and Carlos Aguilar.

Fr. Federico Hernandez was the celebrant for the Requiem mass and burial was in Mt.Hope Cemetery in Carrizo Springs under the direction of the Leonard Funeral Home.
