Dennis David Aljets, the son of Dave and Fay Garver Aljets, was born at Pomeroy, Iowa, on Nov. 26, 1942. He was educated in school at Pomeroy and graduated from Pomeroy High School in 1960. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1960-1963.
He was united in marriage to Barbara Harms at May City on June 7, 1964. They lived in the Fort Dodge area until moving to Ocheyedan in 1970. He graduated from Northwest Iowa Technical College in Sheldon in 1973 and worked as an electrician since that time.
He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Ocheyedan and served on the church council.
He had been hospitalized since suffering an injury while working in September of 1976. Since November he had been a patient at the Veterans Hospital in Milwaukee, WI and it was there that he passed away on Jan. 15, at the age of 34. Preceding him in death were his father and twin brothers in infancy.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; one son, Troy; three daughters, Kristie, Kimberly and Tracy, all at home; his mother, Mrs. F.C. (Fay) Shinn of Fort Dodge; two sisters, Mrs. Donald (Darlene) Mann of Pomeroy and Mrs. Eldon (Karen) Rossow of Ft. Dodge; three step-sisters, and one step-brother.
