W.H. "Dude" Blackard, 86, of Clrksville died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 1998, at Health South Rehabilitation Hospital in Ft. Smith.

He was born in the Bethlehem Community, member of Woodland Baptist Church, former church deacon, member of the Blackard Quartet for 45 years, retired coal miner, and former owne of Blackard Salvage Shop.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs, Joyce Blackard; one daughter and son-in-law, Jetta and Charles Martin; two sons and daughter-in-law, Bill and Mary, and Jim and Morine Blackard; one sister Rena Hardgrave; 11 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
