BARLOW RITES WILL BE TODAY
Local Musician, Painter, Helped to Organize Old Military Band Here
Funeral services for Harry Lee Barlow, seventy-three, who died of a heart attack Monday night about 9:00 o'clock while in the yard of his home at 733 Main street, will be conducted this afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the Loren H. Murphy funeral home where friends may call at any time. Rev. A.J. Spaulding will officiate at the service. Mr. Barlow was born in Moscow, Rush county, March 18, 1866, the son of John and Melinda Barlow. He had been a resident of Shelbyville since 1914. Mr. Barlow, who was a painter by trade, was an accomplished musician, and was one of the organizers of the Old Shelbyville Military Band. He had traveled with Barnum and Bailey's Circus for several years. During his youth he attended the Moscow Christian church and had been a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge. He was married December 14, 1919 to Blanche McGinnis, who survives with one son, Adrain, at home. Three children by a former marriage and a step-son also survive. They are; Carl Barlow and Mrs. Pauline Garwood, of Chicago, Mrs. Louis Ferleman, of this city, and Melbourne McGinnis, of Milroy. Also surviving are a brother, James Barlow, of this city, three grandchildren, and three step-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Burial will be made at the Moscow cemetery.
