Columbus, died at noon Monday, March 29, 2010, at her home.
A homemaker, Mrs. Amburgey was a member of New Hope Christian Church. She loved
to knit, quilt and crochet and also loved gardening and her flowers.
Born in Whitesburg, Ky., March 25, 1927, Mrs. Amburgey was the daughter of
Arthur and Angie Brown Banks but was raised by her stepmother, Polly Ann Banks.
She married Farmer Amburgey Sept. 4, 1944, in Baltimore, MD,
The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th
Street with John Sichting officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m.
Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday. Burial will be at
Hawcreek Cemetery north of Hope.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana or New
Hope Christian Church.

Mrs. Amburgey is survived by her husband; a son, Ron (Katrina) Amburgey of
Columbus; brothers, Jack (Wendy) Banks and Carl (Carol) Banks, both of Columbus,
Paul (Babe) Brashears of Arkansas and Tony (Kathy) Banks of Arizona; sisters,
Estelle Scheidt and Ruby Brashears, both of Columbus; grandchildren, Melissa
(Eric) Johnson of Logansport, Jarred Amburgey of Bloomington, Jordan Smith of
Taiwan, Brandon W. Smith of Boston, Mass., and David L. Smith of Columbus; and
two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Edgar Amburgey; a sister, Iness
Hogg; and a brother, Harlan Banks
