Viola M. Stuckemeyer, 76, Altamont, Illinois, passed away on April 12, 2012 surrounded by her family at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis Missouri. She was born November 8, 1935 at home, which was on the Effingham/Clay County line near Louisville, Illinois to Walter and Lois Dammerman Mellendorf. Viola was the third child of four siblings. Viola married Leo E. Stuckemeyer April 17, 1955 at St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Louisville, Illinois.

Hard work and a strong faith were part of their family life. She received her education in the Louisville, Illinois school system in Clay County. She was a devoted farm wife and mother most of her life. She worked at Kramer Propane Gas in Effingham for a short peroid of time. She was historian reporter for Wright Unit HCE for many years, active in St. Paul "Blue Point" Ladies Aid Society, delivered Meals on Wheels, and for numerous years,assisted in her husband/s petroleum sales.

Surviving are her husband, Leo Edward Stuckemeyer, Altamont, Illinois; son, Dean Ray (Donna) Stuckemeyer, Altamont, Illinois; daughter, Darlene Renee (Randy) Radloff, Danville, Illinois; grandchildren, Amy (Brandon) West, Champaign, Illinois; Bethany Stuckemeyer, Altamont, Illinois; Tennille (Nickolas) Spense, Brownsburg, Indiana; Nicole (Ryan) Welty, Green Castle, Indiana; great-grandchildren, Madyson, Easton, and Maya; brothers, Floyd (Mary Lou) Mellendorf, Sptringfield, Illinois; Dale (Irma) Mellendorf, Louisville, Illinois; sister, Phyllis Will, Altamont, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother-in-law, Alvin Will.

Funeral services were at the St. Paul "Blue Point" Lutheran Church, Altamont, Illinois with Rev. David R. Speers officating.

Kull Funeral Chapel, altamont, Illinois assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
