Richard W. Bratz, 79, Town of Eaton farmer, died unexpectedly of a heart attack Tuesday afternoon at his home on Rt. 1, Valders.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, Collins, with the Rev. Victor Weyland, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Bratz was born April 13, 1877, in the Town of Rockland and married the former Ernestina Schroeder June 3, 1903. The couple settled on the farm in Eaton and observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1953.
He is survived by his wife, two sons, Albert on the homestead farm and Herman of Manitowoc; two daughters, Mrs. Herbert Kiesow Rt. 1, Valders, and Mrs. Walter Dittmann of Newton; four brothers, Fred of the Town of Cato and August, Henry and Adolph of Reedsville; two sisters, Mrs. Tina Thronson of Rt. 1, Valders, and Mrs. Otto Reinke of Rt. 1, Reedsville; 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Reedsville Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Thursday until 9:30 a.m. Friday when the casket will be moved to the church where the body will be in state until the hour of service.
