Douglas Taylor, avid golfer, has dug his deepest divot on Tuesday, January 1, 2008. Douglas F. Taylor, 56, born in Middletown, NY, and resident of Peoria, AZ, for the past 35 years passed away peacefully after a seven-year battle with myelofibrosis.
He was a graduate of Pine Bush High School in 1969, and was also a graduate of SUNY Orange County Community College. After moving to Arizona he attended and graduated from Arizona State University. Go Devils!
He is survived by his three children: Justin, Amy and Robert Taylor; sister Susan and her husband, George LaMonica, of Grahamsville, NY, brother Dan and his wife, Lisa, of Circleville, NY, and sister, Erin and her husband, Tom Joanes of Queen Creek, AZ; his father and stepmother Sam and Jean Taylor, of Chandler, AZ; his mother, Mary Ida Itzla of Circleville, NY; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of Doug's life will be held at l p.m. with visitation from 12 - 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2008 at the Community Church of Joy, 21000 N. 75th Ave., Glendale, AZ with burial immediately following at Arrowhead Memorial Gardens. 623-362-3255.
In celebration of Doug's life, please wear bright colors or your ASU finest (burgundy, white and gold). At Doug's request, wearing the color black is not permitted! A special thank you to all of Doug's caregivers at St. Joseph's Hospital, 2nd Floor SICU and 6th Floor oncology.
