Son of Joseph Uriah and Winifred 'Winney' Hayes Anderson, who were from South Carolina and moved into Georgia by 1805.

James Anderson died August 1879. He is listed on the U.S. Federal Census Mortality Schedule, 1880, for Johnson County, Georgia. The schedule states "The census year begins June 1, 1879 and ends May 31, 1880". Since James Anderson died August, the year of his death is 1879. He is listed as follows:
Anderson, James 63, M (male), W (white), married, born in Georgia, father born Georgia, mother born NC. James is listed as farmer, died AUG, of Dropsey, lived in county 35 years.

Also, the Johnson Co., Ga., Confederate Pension records for Harriet Jane Anderson states James died 1879. I have also found a very short notice of his 1879 death in the "Johnson News" section of the Laurens Co., Ga. newspaper.

James Anderson is my GGG Grandfather.
