Albert Immanuel Aho, age 86, of Buffalo passed away on Monday, February 20th, 2012 at Lake Ridge Care Center in Buffalo.

He was born on February 7, 1926 in Kingston, New York, the son of Elias & Aini (Ora) Aho.

Albert honorably served his Country in The United States Air Force during World War II and as Staff Sergeant in the Korean War as a radio operator.

On February 12, 1961, Albert I. Aho & Lea Ann Sorvo were joined in holy marriage in Kingston, New York. God blessed their marriage with six children.

Albert was formerly a carpenter for many years and in his later years taught carpentry to underprivileged Youth at Pioneer Youth Camp in Rifton, NY. Albert enjoyed his grandchildren! He also was a prolific reader, enjoyed writing, was a master of good, clean jokes and had a passion for nature, trees, gardening, and making maple syrup.

Survived by his wife of fifty one years: Lea Ann Aho; children: Lauri & Cindy Aho of Buffalo; Jonathan & Kathi Aho of Becker; Sara Aho of Wayzata, Rebecca & Dave Stewart of Plymouth, Joy & Aaron Huotari of Snohomish, Washington; Tanja Aho of Waterbury, Connecticut; twenty six grandchildren and five great grandchildren; a brother: Aarre (Virginia) Aho of Shelton, Connecticut; a sister-in-law: Florence Aho of Prescott, Arizona; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents: Elias & Aini Aho; a sister: Elma Aho; brothers: Arne, Arvo, Alfred, Aimo, and Armas; and two granddaughters and one grandson.

Funeral services for Albert Aho will be held on Monday, February 27th at 10:30 A.M. at The Rockford Laestadian Lutheran Church, 741 Ibarra Ave NE, Buffalo, MN 55313. Pastor Jouko Haapsaari will officiate.

Interment will follow at Minnesota State Veteran's Cemetery in Camp Ripley, Minnesota.

A visitation will be held on Monday, February 27th beginning at 9:30 A.M. at the Church.

Casket Bearers will be Lauri Aho, Jonathan Aho, Aaron Huotari, Dave Stewart, Ben Erickson and Calvin Hill.

The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo is serving the family.
