Obituary published in Wichita Eagle from Feb 10 to 11, 2009∼Lauren Boyed was an amazing woman. She was born Oct. 13, 1989. When Lauren and I first met it was in the fourth grade at Beach elementry. We became best friends. When I first saw Laren she was different from all the other kids at school. She looked and acted different, but I didn't care she was going to be my friend. After fourth grade was over my family moved and I went to a different school. We saw each other again in sixth grade, but we were not close friends anymore. We went to school together all through middle school and high school. Lauren became more sick every year. She got made fun of all the time for the way she looked and acted, and I couldn't understand why people would be so mean. If they knew why the way she was they would feel sorry for her. Lauren was a strong independent woman. In late 2008 she became very ill. She ended up in the hospital and in sort of a coma. Her parents made the decision to take the pain away from her for good. So Lauren Boyed died peacefully on Feb. 9, 2009. It was the saddest day, because I barely talked to her anymore, and it was hard to see someone like that. It was hard to see someone die at such a young age and was never able to live a wonderful and long life.
