TRIVOLI, IL - Raymond M. Blundy, 85, of Trivoli died at 8:13 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011, surrounded by his family.
He was born on Dec. 26, 1925, in Brimfield to Merle and Elsie Heinz Blundy. They preceded him in death.
He married Mary M. Shockency on Aug. 6, 1950, in Trivoli. She survives.
Also surviving are three children, Patricia (John) Rook of Brimfield, Janet Vallas of Yates City and Marilyn (Edward) Lewis of Williamsfield; seven grandchildren, Ray (Lori), Kenny (Molly), Christy, Jonathan, Jenny, Kevin and Patrick; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Kenneth, and granddaughter, Stephany.
Raymond first worked for Sweeny Gas Company and later for Standard Oil Fertilizer Plant in Brimfield. He also was a self-employed farmer.
Raymond drove a school bus in Brimfield, was a member of Brimfield Union Church and an avid wood worker and carpenter. He also enjoyed fishing, traveling and bowling, having bowled a few 300 games.
He served in the U.S. Amy during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Brimfield American Legion.
Burial will be in the Brunswick Cemetery in rural Trivoli.
