Juanita L. Alexander, 81, of Bisbee, Ariz., passed away on Monday, Dec. 8, 2003, in a Tucson, Ariz., hospital. Juanita was born Feb. 17, 1922, in Columbus, N.M. Her parents were Arthur Littlejohn and Rosa Cruz Littlejohn.

Juanita was a volunteer writer for the Sierra Vista Herald. Over the years she has submitted many articles. She enjoyed reading the Bible. She was an active Christian church member. She often volunteered her time at nursing homes. Her late husband, Anatole Alexander, a retired staff sergeant from the U.S. Army, was buried on Fort Huachuca at the Post Cemetery in 1946.

Survivors include her sons, Daniel Anatole Alexander of Sierra Vista, Ariz., Arthur Lorenzo Alexander of Sierra Vista; daughters, Lucille Rodriguez of California, Vivian Fergerson of California, Betina Renteria of California, Rebecca (Charles) Ford of Sierra Vista; brother, Arthur Littlejohn of California; 16 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003, at Shiloh Christian Center, 200 North Ave., in Sierra Vista. Dr. Joseph L. Tumpkin, senior pastor, will officiate. Interment of cremains will be in her husband's grave at the Post Cemetery on Fort Huachuca following her memorial service.
