Joel Banning Dead
The death of Joel Banning, an old resident of Raymond, took place Sunday morning about 1:50 o'clock at the family residence in Raymond. Death was due to chronic nephritis. Mr. Banning suffered an accident about 10 days ago, when he was greasing a buggy and in pulling off the wheel he was thrown backward with a great deal of force and was struck over the chest by the wheel. He did not recover from this, his health having been poor before and spinal meningitis developed which with his previous trouble, proved fatal.
The deceased was 74 years, 1 month and 3 days of age at his death. He was united in marriage with Miss Anna Pepperdine, at Raymond, on May 9, 1865 the fifty fifth anniversary of their marriage having occurred just a week before Mr. Banning?s death.
He is survived by his widow and one daughter, Mr. Al Davis, who lives near Raymond.
The funeral services will be held this Tuesday morning from the family residence at ten o'clock, Miss Lou Watson, a Christian minister, officiating. Interment will be made in the Raymond cemetery.
