Walter H. Bandy Dies At Litchfield; Rites On Tuesday
Walter H. Bandy, 89, retired farmer of Litchfield, died at 12:40 o'clock Sunday morning in the Litchfield nursing home.
The body is at the Gerit-Meinschein funeral home where friends may call until noon Tuesday when the remains will be taken to the Pleasant Hill Christian church north of Litchfield for services at 1:30 o'clock. Rev. Lynn Laughlin will officiate and interment will be in Raymond City cemetery. Mr. Bandy had been an elder in the church for 45 years.
He was born on a farm in West Zanesville township on Jan. 6, 1880, a son of Micajak F. and Rachael Bell Bewley Bandy. He married Louisa Belle Driskell on Dec. 25, 1908, and she preceded him in death in 1945.
Surviving are three sons, Kenneth D. of Litchfield, Clyde D. of DeKalb and Dale of Decatur; two daughters, Lucille, wife of Leroy Elkin of Northbrook, Ill., and Isabell, wife of Harold Garwood of Clearwater, Fla., with two grandchildren, Margaret Rice of Gillespie and Ronald Bandy of DeKalb, and two great-grandchildren.
A sister, Mrs. Ruth Ray and a brother, Guy Bandy, both of Litchfield, also survive. A brother, Pearl, and a sister, Mrs. Della Williams preceded him in death.
