William was a Quaker, also called the "Society of Friends". He married Ann Rhoads. She was born during 1700 in PA and died at the age of 30 during 1730 in Berks Co., PA.

They did have a daughter born in 1727 that they named: Elizabeth Coulston/Coleson.

The Arden Cemetery where William is buried was originally called the "Old Quaker Cemetery".
