Houston Chronicle, August 7, 2002:

J. G. "Jay" Allen went to be with his heavenly Father on July 26, 2002.

He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty years, Euna Henderson Allen, who passed from this life October 13, 2001. Both had been long-time residents of Pasadena before retiring and moving to Mexia, Texas in 1985.

Surviving are three children, Georgia Walker and husband, Earl, of Humble, Carlie Gilbert of Pasadena, Michael Allen and wife, Christine, of Mexia; one sister and two brothers, Midred Pevehouse of Snyder, Carl Allen of Pasadena, Oscar Allen of Fort Worth; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
