Leda Mae Hicks Archuleta, 91, resident of Veneta, Oregon died Aug. 6, 2012, in Eugene, Oregon.

She was born May 12, 1921, in Ricetown, Kentucky, the daughter of Finley Hicks and Dora Combs Hicks.

Leda worked as a bookkeeper, loved music and singing. Leda was an amazing gardener; she could get anything to grow.

She is survived by her spouse, Pete Archuleta; son Dennis Paddock; nephew Bryan Snowden; brothers: Junior Hicks and Doug Hicks; sisters: Geneva Holiday, Vera McClory and Pauline Snowden; six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.

Leda was preceded in death by her parents; a sister Ada Siegle and daughter Grayce Paddock Eagar.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at the Amity Building of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at the corner of School Bus Road and River Road in Eagar. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Eagar Cemetery.
