Funeral services will be held Monday, January 13, 2014 at a 1:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro for Bernice Alleman, age 95, the former Bernice Landry, who passed away Friday, January 10, 2014 at 10:04 p.m. at her daughter's residence in Carencro.
Interment will be in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Carencro.
Ms. Alleman was a native of Arnaudville and lived most of her life in Carencro. She was employed with St. Pierre Catholic School for several years. She was a parishioner of St. Peter Catholic Church in Carencro and was a member of the Bonne Mort Society, Ladies Altar Society, Sacred Heart League and Children of Mary. Ms. Alleman was a compassionate, loving person who was loved by all who knew her. Her hobbies included cooking for family and friends and serving coffee to her visitors. She also loved gardening and tending her flowers. C'est la vie!
Survivors include one daughter, Genevieve "Jenny" Alleman Jones and husband, Bill, of Carencro; one son, Joe Alleman and companion, Janelle, of Breaux Bridge; four grandchildren, Jon Alleman, Kelly Robin and husband, Shawn, Dusty Boudreaux and Cash Alleman; one great grandchild, Kyler Robin; two nephews, Raylan Allemand and wife, Dianne, Percy Glenn Allemand and wife, Lynn; three nieces, Julie Benoit Wagner and husband, Royce, Stephanie Leblanc and husband, Randy, Wynne Vincent and husband, Brian; one godson, Matthew Arceneaux; and one adoptive daughter, Sarah Frederick.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clovis Alleman; her parents, Angellas Landry, Sr. and the former Elidia Castille; two brothers, Percy Landry, Angellas Landry, Jr.; and one nephew, Jessie Landry.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday and will continue from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Monday.
The Alleman family would like to extend special thanks to Hospice of Acadiana and to Lafayette General Medical Center, especially the staff of the 2nd floor and Emergency Room for their outstanding care.
