Davenport - Funeral services for Alma M. (Reitz) Belk, of Davenport will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 13, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Davenport. Burial will follow at St. Ann's Cemetery, Long Grove, Iowa. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, Davenport. Mrs. Belk died on Friday, Dec. 9, 2004, at the Kahl Home, Davenport. Alma Magdalena Reitz was born Dec. 14, 1913, to Stephen and Suzanne (Chapier) Reitz in Rodden, Ill. She married John H. Belk in 1936 Hanover, Ill., and moved to Davenport in 1944. She was employed at the Sears Roebuck and Company in Davenport for 26 years retiring in 1977. She then worked an additional five years at the former Hanssen's Hardware in Davenport retiring in 1983. Mrs. Belk was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Davenport, Daughters of Isabella, the Catholic Women's League, Bible Study Fellowship, the Sears Roebuck Retirees Club, Quad-City Times Plus 60 Club, and several card clubs. Survivors include two daughters, Ruth Stivers, of Davenport, and Gail (Mrs. Marv) Otto, of Walcott, Iowa; a son, Stephen, and his wife Twila Belk, of Bettendorf; a sister, Bernice Krug, of Stockton, Ill.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Donald. Memorials may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church.
