LINDALE - Services for Neal Allums, 85, Lindale, are scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home, Lindale, with the Rev. Charles Gilmore officiating.

Burial will be in Lindale City Cemetery.

Mr. Allums died Feb. 2, 2007, in a Tyler hospital.

He was born Aug. 9, 1921, in Panola County to Seaborn and Velma Hughes Allums. He lived in Timpson before moving to Lindale in 1948. He was a member of East Foothills Missionary Baptist Church and Lindale Veteran of Foreign Wars No. 9828, and served in the Army during World War II. He retired from Tyler Pipe Industries with 30 years of service.

He was preceded in death by wife, Elizabeth Allums, March 23, 2006, and son, David Allums, July 20, 2005.

Survivors include son, James Allums, Tyler; daughters, Edna Cowell, Whitehouse, and Deborah McDaniel, Lindale; brothers, Leonard Allums, Carthage, and Lewis Allums, Hurst; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Brent Scott, Aaron Allums, Christopher McDaniel, Johnny May, Steve Hukill and Chris Gilmore.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
