Robert Walter Bangert, 83, of Bluffs, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, at his residence. He was born July 27, 1918, in Bloomfield, the son of Walter and Amelia Hazel Bangert. He married Marjorie Albers Sept. 21, 1940, in Bowling Green, Mo., and she survives.
He is also survived by three sons, Gary (wife, Martha) and Tony (wife, Sandy), both of Bluffs and Daryl (wife, Shelby) Bangert of Exeter; one daughter, Bonny (husband, Max) Edlen of Bluffs; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gerald (wife, Mary) of Galesburg and James (wife, Pat) of Quincy; and one sister Betty (husband, Hubert) Kestner of Clayton. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold, in infancy, and Garner; and three sisters, Eleanor Echternkamp, Ruth Marshall and Dorothy Marshall.
Mr. Bangert was a retired farmer and the farm manager for G.O. Head Farms near Bluffs for 15 years. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Bluffs, Scott County Farm Bureau and Bluffs Fire Department.
