Parents: Thomas Moses and Bessie Smith Moses of Cheapside, VA (both deceased)
William Stanley Moses died in Deborah Hospital, Browns Mills, New Jersey. He attended elementary school in Northampton County, VA. Upon the death of his father, at the age of 9, William partially assumed his father's position as a deep-water fisherman to help support his family. He had a deep abiding faith in God and joined Ebenezer A.M.E. Church at an early age. One of William's passions in life was using his hands in construction, working as a carpenter. He moved to New Jersey where he was employed by Labor Construction Local 50, Princeton, New Jersey for many years. Upon retirement, he returned to Northampton County, VA and spent his time farming, which he enjoyed very much. No one was a stranger to him; he always had a smile and could make friends easily. He often received a lot of pleasure in conversations about horses and collecting pictures of different breeds. He liked fishing and enjoyed being close to the wonders of nature and the great outdoors as he planted, and reaped the fruits of his labors.
A funeral service was held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, March 1, 2003 at the Ebenezer A.M.E. Church, Capeville, VA.
