OWENTON --- Lonnie "Woody" Atha, 73, Monterey, died there Thursday. His wife, Dorothy, survives. Funeral 2 p.m. Sunday, McDonald Main Street Funeral Home. Visitation after 4 p.m. Saturday.

Lonnie Atha, 73, of Monterey, died Thursday at his home. He was a construction employee, a member of Monterey Baptist Church and an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Dorothy Steger Atha; a son, Melvin Atha of Houston, Texas; sisters, Leota Derringer and Pearly Gaines, both of Monterey; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at McDonald Funeral Home, Main Street, Owenton. Visitation will be there from 4 to 9 p.m. today. Burial will be in Monterey Masonic Cemetery.
