Raynold L. Anderson, 85, Richmond, IL, died Thursday, Dec 16, 2004, at his home.
He was born Sept 8, 1919, in Cedar Rapids, IA, the son of Arthur and Gertrude Rasmussen Anderson.
He married Violet Schessel May 28, 1949, in Richmond. She died May 16, 1997.
A graduate of Richmond High School in 1937, he owned and operated Anderson's Candy in Richmond from 1949 to 1994.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving from 1941 to 1945 as a Tech 4 in the intelligence division in the European Theater. He was a member of Paul C. Hoffman American Legion Post 253, Richmond.
He was a member of the Community Church of Richmond, serving on the board of directors and the pulpit committee. He was a former member of the Richmond Fire Department, the Richmond Zephyr basketball team, a former partner of Richmond Bowl, served on the Richmond-Burton High School Board from 1964 to 1968 and from 1966 to 1970.
He was also Assistant Scoutmaster and District Representative of Boy Scout Troop 149, Richmond. He was a member of the Nippersink Investors Association.
He is survived by his sons, Leif (Tracy) Anderson and Lars (Ellen) Anderson, both of Spring Grove, IL; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Gwendolyn (Robert) Cleland, Mena, AR.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec 28, at Ehorn-Adams Funeral Home, Richmond. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec 29, at the Community Church of Richmond with the Rev. Jerry Walton officiating. Interment will be in Richmond Cemetery.
