Born in Erwin, Tenn. on Oct. 13, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Wiley and Texie Woody Forbes.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Ernest Davis; a daughter, Linda Lou Davis; sons-in-law, Roy Abernathy and James Henry Cook; and a brother, Carroll Forbes.
Lottie was a faithful member and prayer warrior of Smart's Grove Baptist Church.
She retired from Hickory Hills Furniture following more than 20 years of service. She loved to crochet baby blankets and work in her flower garden. She was the "Mother of the Hill."
Lottie is survived by her daughters, Melba Cook of Spruce Pine, Nellie Abernathy of Connelly Springs and Judy Lail and husband, Ray, of Connelly Springs; grandchildren, the Rev. Darwin E. Cook, Farold L. Cook, Norma Brittain, Joe Abernathy, Jennifer Abernathy, Junior Lail and Melonia Lail; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Jack Forbes of Newland; sisters, Mildred Buchanan, Kathleen Buchanan and Irene Fisher, all of Spruce Pine, Jenvie Cook of Marion, Annlee Ledford of Tennessee and Lucy Lanning of Nebo.
The funeral will be held at 5 p.m., Wednesday at Smart's Grove Baptist Church with the Revs Charles Lewis, Darwin Cook and Leonard Lindsey officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. At other times, the family will be at the residence of her daughter, Judy Lail.
