George A. VanBrunt, a Long Branch stage driver, was found dead in his room last Wednesday morning. He had been sick with consumption a long time, but had not been obliged to give up work. He went to bed on Tuesday night feeling as well as usual. Wednesday morning he did not come down stairs, and Daniel VanBrunt, a son of the woman with whom he boarded, went to his room to call him. Getting no response when he knocked at the door he went in the room.

The dead body of Mr. VanBrunt was found in a kneeling position in a corner of the room. His chin rested in the corner of the wall and this kept his body from falling to the floor. The bed in Mr. VanBrunt's room had been occupied. He had apparently got up to take some medicine and had been taken with a hemorrhage.

Mr, VanBrunt was born in Illinois, but had lived in this state 29 years. He was 43 years old. He was a widower and leaves two children.
