Ida Mae Keown was born to George Singleton Keown and Eliza Ellen Wells Keown on July 2, 1901.

Her siblings were: Everett Paschal Keown, Homer Frank Keown, Aaron SIngleton Keown, Ernest Russell Keown, Daisy Katherine Keown (Carman/Globerman), J. D. Keown, Charles Cecil Keown.

She had married Elgar Glen Allen on November 8, 1924 in Moultrie County. Six children were born to this union: Pauline Mae Allen (Johnson/Boehm); Betty Jean Allen (Coventry/Lambdin); Harold Glen Allen; Paul Edward Allen; Bobby Gene Allen; Kenneth Ray Allen.

Her parents, several siblings and a son, Paul Edward, preceded her in death.
