Joseph Anthony Amico, Jr., 53, of Harrah, OK passed away August 28, 2008 around midnight after a brave fight against lung cancer. He was born on December 29, 1954 in Oklahoma City, OK to the late Joseph Anthony and Ruth Amico. Joe grew up in Midwest City and graduated from Midwest City High School in 1973. He also attended Rose State College and the University of Oklahoma. Joe began his career with Southwestern Bell in 1976 and was currently the Manager for Installation and Repair for AT&T in Midwest City and Nicoma Park area. He met his future wife, Sara, when they were both working at SWB. They married in 1985. Joe was actively involved with his son Joey, as he moved through the Boy Scouts to the rank of Eagle Scout. Joe had also been a Little League basketball coach, involved with the Harrah High School Band Boosters, and had been a member of the Finance Committee at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Harrah. Joe is survived by his wife, Sara, and son Joseph Anthony Amico III, of the home. He is also survived by daughter Christine Sneden, of Harrah, OK and her children, Richard and Sydney Seebeck and also by son and daughter-in-law, John and Shauna Sneden, of Ogden, UT and their children Sabrina and John Sneden. Joe was very proud of his children and grandchildren. Joe is also survived by brother, John Amico, and sisters, Mary Jane Amico and JoAnne Salisbury, several nieces and nephews, mother-in-law, Dorothy Walter, Mark and Sharon Stewart, and a great many friends. A rosary and wake service will be held Tuesday, Sept. 2 at 6:30 PM and a Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 3 at 11:00 AM. Both services will be held at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, 1576 N. Tim Holt Dr., Harrah, OK 73045. Burial will be at St. Teresa's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the name of Joe Amico to the St. Anthony Foundation Sister's Fund Cancer Care at 826 N.W. 11th St., Oklahoma City, OK 73106, (405) 272-7070.
