Sisto Sandoval, age 79, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, was called to his Eternal home by the Lord, Saturday, December 17, 2005, while surrounded by his loving family. He was a lifelong resident of Cuba, NM, a member of the Catholic Church, and a proud Decorated Veteran of the United States Army, who served his country during World War II. Sisto was a proud rancher who dedicated his life to his family and retired after a 38 year Career with the United States Forestry Department. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rosalinda Soder, and a grandson, Robert Smith. Sisto is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Epifania Sandoval; his wonderful children, Sisto Sandoval, III and wife, Carla, Rudy Sandoval and wife, Belinda, Evelyn Smith and husband, Deacon Frank, Mary Sandoval and fiance, Mark, and Esther Hernandez and husband, Mark; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen De Herrera and husband, Jacobo Jr.; many nieces, nephews, and other beloved family members and friends. Sisto will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. A Rosary for Sisto will be recited this evening (Tuesday) at 6:30 p.m. at the Church of the Incarnation, 2309 Monterrey NE in Rio Rancho, NM. Another Rosary will be recited Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Cuba, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church. Interment will follow at the Cuba Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bryan Sandoval, Sisto Sandoval, Frank Smith, IV, Christopher Smith, Rudy Sandoval Jr., and Seth Sandoval. Honorary bearers will be Mark Hernandez, Kenneth Sandoval, Edward Smith, Mark Hernandez, II, Sisto Sandoval, V, Shurie Sandoval, Elizabeth Brobst, Adriana Hernandez, Frank Smith, III, and Roydan Soder. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request Memorial Contributions be made to Immaculate Conception Church, P.O. Box 40, Cuba, NM 87013. Funeral services were entrusted to: Alameda Mortuary 9420 4th Street NW 898-3160
