Carl CARTER, 82, of Waka, died April 12, 1994.
Funeral services will be Friday, April 15, at 2 p.m. in the Waka Church of the Brethren with Rev. Martin Gauby, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Balko, Oklahoma, under the direction of Boxwell Brothers.
He was born July 11, 1911 in Satanta, Kansas, and had lived in the Ochiltree and Beaver County areas since 1926. He married Ella Ray KUTCH on October 30, 1934 in Stratford.
He was employed by First National Bank from 1960 until 1963, then owned the Waka store and service station from 1963-69. He began farming in. 1969, and continued until 1993.
He was also an Ochiltree County deputy sheriff from 1957-60, a charter member of the Waka Lions Club and a Mason.
He is survived by his wife, Ella Ray, of the home; one son, Howard CARTER of Tomball; one daughter, Cleta WEEMES of Hereford; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
