Services for Paul Shaffer will be conducted Friday in the New Hope Christian Fellowship Church, Marietta, with Rev. Larry Berryhill officiating.

Mr. Shaffer was born November 18, 1919, in Paris, Texas, the son of Paul E. Sr. and Elsie Pierce Shaffer, and died October 21, 1997, in the Mercy Memorial Health Center, Ardmore, at the age of 77.

Mr. Shaffer had lived in Marietta for the past four years, moving here from California. He was a retired mechanic and attended the New Hope Christian Fellowship Church of Marietta.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Leslie and Diane Shaffer of Paso Robles, California; three brothers, Daniel Shaffer of Tacoma, Washington, Roland Shaffer of Front Royal, Virginia, and Gayland Shaffer of the home; three sisters, Aleen Kretzschmar of Thackerville and Joan Miles and Gwendolyn Reuda of Marietta; and two grandchildren, Danielle and Lucas.

Mr. Shaffer was preceded in death by four sisters.

Arrangements are under the direction of Kennedy Funeral Home with interment in New Hope Cemetery. Assisting as pallbearers will be Berry Johnson, Floyd Miles, Eldon Bartlett, Bull Shurbet, Dan Kretzschmar and Chris Bond.
