Graveside services for James Earl Campbell were held Friday, May 2, 2008, at the Burney Moore Cemetery in Madill with Ron Robertson officiating. Services were under direction of Watts Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Madill.
Mr. Campbell, 49, of El Reno, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at his home. He was born in Seminole to Hubert Earl Campbell and Carolyn Pearl Case Campbell on Sept. 2, 1958. James grew up in Seminole and graduated from Seminole High School in 1976. He attended Southeastern University in Durant where he received bachelor's and master's degrees in science and technology. James worked for the USDA as a computer scientist in Durant before moving to El Reno in 1997 where he continued working for the USDA. He was a member of the NSTRA and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, being a beach bum, anything outdoors and family.
He is survived by his wife, Julie Campbell of El Reno; parents, Earl and Carolyn Campbell of Bridgeview; a son, Jason Campbell and wife, Brandie of Bridgeview; a daughter, Cherie Burns and husband, Mark of Concho; brother, Tommy Campbell and wife, Chris of Bridgeview; stepsons, Mark Bell, Travis Buttram and wife, Sarah, Jerry Buttram and wife, Katie, and Jesse Buttram; grandchildren, Tyler, Mason and Lauren Campbell, Aspen Burns and Allie Taylor; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
James was preceded in death by his grandparents, James Thomas and Opal Zelda Campbell and James and Audrey Case; an uncle, Jimmy Case; an aunt; Lorene Campbell; and a grandson, Brandon Joe Campbell.
