Lawrence Louis Albrecht, 60, of Brush Hill Road, Middletown, beloved husband of Joanne (Fulmine) Albrecht, entered into eternal peace after a courageous battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma on September 17, 2010 at Middlesex Hospice and Palliative Care Hospital.
He was born May 7, 1950 in Middletown, the son of Walter and Dorothy (Sheld) Albrecht.
He is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law: Michael and Sarah Albrecht of Southbridge, MA; Anthony and Kelly Albrecht of Middletown; his brother Richard Albrecht; two sisters Joanne Moore and Linda Gates, all of Killingworth, CT; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Larry graduated from Central Connecticut College with a bachelor's degree in engineering and was employed at Pratt & Whitney as a manufacturing engineer for forty years. He coached St. Mary's CYO basketball team, and was the Scoutmaster for Troop 41 Boy Scouts. Larry was also an Eagle Scout. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, boating, and UCONN Huskies basketball. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family whom he adored and was so proud of. Larry will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was a dedicated husband, dad, and friend.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 10:15 a.m. from Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver Street, Middletown, followed by an 11:00 a.m. celebration of his life in Notre Dame Church, Main Street, Durham.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Middletown.
Friends may call at Biega Funeral Home on Monday from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
