John "The Barber" Arcidiacono of Main Street, Cromwell, died Wednesday at home. He was 92.
He was a lifelong Cromwell resident. He was a member of St. John's Church in Cromwell, the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He owned a barbershop at 321 Main St., Cromwell, for more than 42 years, retiring in 1971.
He is survived by his wife, Angela Amenta Arcidiacono; two daughters, Marion Libertini of Sudbury, Mass., and Lucille Wilson of Portland; a sister, Rose Branciforte of Cromwell; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. from the D'Angelo Funeral Home, 22 S. Main St., Middletown, to St. John's Church for a Mass at 11:30. Burial with military honors will be in Calvary Cemetery, Middletown. Calling hours are 6 to 9 p.m. today.
Contributions may be made to St. John's Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
