Apple, Patricia (Nee Bornstein) Entered Eternal Life on November 27, 2009, at the age of 93. Longtime resident of Whitefish Bay. Beloved wife of the late Robert H. Apple. Loving mother of Jonathan "Jon" (Roberta) Apple and Mary (Carl) Boyer. Cherished grandmother of Peter Apple, Amy Apple, Christina (Stuart Luman) Boyer, Abigail (Joseph Sanders) Boyer and Margaret (Adam Zastro) Boyer. Patricia was Trustee, Marquette University. 1978 - 1987, Trustee, Emerita, 1987 to present; Founding President, Marquette Women's Council; Chair, Capitol Campaign to build Haggerty Museum of Art; Member, first Haggerty Museum Friends Board; President, Visiting Nurse Association of Milwaukee Board of Directors; President, Visiting Nurse Foundation; President, Visiting Nurse Auxiliary; Board Member, Children's Outing Association; Board Member, St. Charles Boys Home; President, Friends of Art, Milwaukee Art Museum; President, Friends of Children's Hospital of Wisconsin (first president); Member, Children's Hospital Auxiliary; First female Board Member, Blue Shield of Wisconsin; Board member, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra League; President, Mothers' Associations of Milwaukee Country Day School and Milwaukee Downer Seminary United Way, Campaign Cabinet; Regional Board Member, National Conference of Christians and Jews. Some of the community awards and recognitions Patricia received were the National Conference of Christians and Jews - Community Service Citation; Marquette University - first female recipient, Friend of the University Award; Mount Mary College - Pro Urbe Award; Milwaukee Foundation - William C. Frye Award; Visiting Nurse Association - Sarah Boyd Award and Volunteer of the Year Award; Boys and Girls Clubs of Milwaukee - Pulling for the Kids Award; University School of Milwaukee - Alumna of the Year Haggerty Museum of Art - Kairos Award; United Fund - Stand Taller Award. Visitation will be held at the Feerick Funeral Home on Friday, December 4, from 4:00 until 7:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Gesu Catholic Church, 1145 W. Wisconsin Ave., (at Wisconsin Avenue and North 12th Street) on Saturday, December 5 at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private at Spring Hill Cemetery. Memorials in Patricia's name may be made to the Haggerty Museum of Art, Marquette University, P.O. Box 1881, Milwaukee, WI 53201 or the Visiting Nurses Association, 11333 West National Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53227.
