Lazo Ignjatovic, 82, of Libertyville, IL passed away Saturday, November 18, 2000 at the Winchester House in Libertyville.
He was born April 9, 1918 in Puskovac, Yugoslavia and came to live in the United States in 1951. He was a former resident of Zion and has lived in Libertyville since 1990. He was a member of the Most Holy Mother of God Monastery in Third Lake and before his retirement, owned and operated the Rosecrans Motel at Routes 41 & 173 near Zion.
Surviving are his sister, Joka Krunich and brother, Cvijetin Kostic, both living in Yugoslavia; 6 nephews, Ivan (Lesia) Kostic of Libertyville, Cvijan Kostic of Germany and Jovo, Petar, Lazo and Slobodan Kostic of Yugoslavia; 5 nieces, Val Lavezzi and Milena (Kurt) Schultz, both of Naperville, Mara Slobodanka and Radmila, all living in Yugoslavia. He was preceded in death by his wife Theresia on February 24, 1988.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, November 25 at the Most Holy Mother of God Monastery in Third Lake. Interment will follow at St. Sava Cemetery in Libertyville. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Avenue, Libertyville, where Pomen services will be held at 7:00PM, Friday evening. Memorial gifts given to the family will be sent to the church in his home town of Pushkovac, Serbian Republic. Info: 847-362-3009.
