Mrs. Battaglia Passes Saturday
Funeral services for Mrs. Santo Battagila, 47 were held in St. Francis Catholic Church at 10:30 Monday morning. The Rev. Martin Moloney officiated, Interment was made in the Catholic Cemetery.
The body of Mrs. Battaglia rested at her home until the funeral.
Mrs. Battaglia died Saturday morning in the local hospital. Earlier, she had spend five months in the Baptist Hospital, in New Orleans. Before that, she was ill at her home for two months.
She was devoted to her home and family and her loss is a sad blow to her husband and kindred.
She leaves her husband, Santo Battaglia; three sons, Vincent Battaglia, Nicholas Battaglia and Johnny Battaglia, the last two, army veterans, and a daughter, Mrs. Josephine Marx, all of Brookhaven. A number of brothers and sisters living in New Orleans are other survivors.
