Manchester resident and Culman, Ala., native Howard Bailey, 65, died June 15 at Coffee Nursing Home.

A steam plant operator at AEDC and a U.S. Navy veteran, he was a past illustrious master for the Grand Council of Tennessee, a past grand lecturer for the Grand Council of Tennessee, a member of the Knights of the York Grand Cross of Honor York Rite, Knight Commander of the Court of Honor Scottish Rite, past master of Hillsboro Lodge 382, past master Ezel Lodge 381, past president and secretary of the Coffee County Scottish Rite Club, and a member of Al Menah Shrine Temple.

The son of the late Asa and Corina Humphries Bailey, he is survived by brothers, Paul and James Bailey; and grandchild, J. Christopher Bell.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Bailey; step children and son-in-law, Debbie and Shane Vaughn of Manchester, and Vonda Bell of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Teshina Vaughn, Rhett Vaughn, Cody Vaughn and Jasmine Bell; great-grandchild, Christopher Collins; sisters, Sue Sanders of Manchester and Ann Matheson of Georgia; brothers, Wilford Bailey of Tullahoma and Gordon Bailey of Manchester.

Services were held Tuesday at Coffee County Funeral Home Chapel with Jessie Garner officiating. Masonic services were held Monday evening. Burial followed at Summitville Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Coffee County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
