Geraldine Durrence Aborn, 82, died Thursday, September 11, 2003, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah. The Tattnall County native had lived in Glennville, Georgia, most of her life. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was preceded in death by her husband, Almer Aborn.
She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law: Aldine and John Hill of Hudson, New Hampshire; Lothaire Carruthers of Kinston, New Hampshire; Lolette and James Williams of Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania; Rose Aborn of Fresno, California; Evelyn and William Sim of Prescott, Arizona; Phillis Kicklighter of Sanford, Florida; and Naomi and Johnny Driggers of Glennville; two sisters, Lothaire Murphy of Savannah and Josephine Durrence of Glennville; one brother, Lon Durrence of Glennville; 29 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, September 14, at Carter Funeral Chapel in Glennville, with the Rev. Jerry Knight officiating. Burial was in Harmony United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Joseph Driggers, Raymond Mobley, Dana Kennedy, Eric Hill, Eddie Cannaster, and Walter Anderson.
Carter Funeral Chapel of Glennville, Georgia, was in charge of the arrangements.
