Birth: Feb. 12, 1922
Death: Jul. 31, 1995

Spouse: Capt Carroll Laurence Ackley.

Grandchild: Stephen A Ackley.

Predeceased by husband, Captain Carroll Laurence Ackley, their son, Christopher Douglas Boudreau, and her sister, Elaine Lybarger. Libby was a woman of exceptional intelligence, wit, courage, and compassion who held strong opinions, but honored the viewpoints of others. Honesty and integrity were the watchwords of her life. Libby possessed an indomitable nature - she was small of frame, but mighty of spirit. Passionate and committed to the causes she embraced. Libby volunteered at the Purdy Correctional Center for Women, participating in the "Take a Lifer to Lunch" program, facilitating inmates' transition back into society after years of incarceration. A life-long student who studied extensively and read voraciously, Libby tenaciously pursued her love of knowledge. Libby was an exchange student in Nazi Germany. She was passionately interested in music theory, and was an accomplished pianist. Libby was fluent in the French language. Her belief in the value of increasing one's knowledge extended beyond her own educational endeavors; she actively supported others in their studies, and joyously celebrated their academic achievements. Life presented Libby with numerous challenges and trials which she met with her simple and elegant philosophy, "We just go on." She was a wonderful wife and mother, valiantly dedicating herself to raising her five sons, supporting and encouraging them in all of their interests. Their love and respect for her is immense. During World War II, Libby served her country as one of only fifty cryptographers charged with decoding top secret messages for the War Department. She also held the rank of First Lieutenant in the Civil Air Patrol. Libby's insight and counsel was treasured by her friends and family. She leaves an enduring legacy of wisdom, love, and laughter. Libby will always live in the hearts of family.
