The Rev G. Douglas Adams, 37, of Ridgetop, TN, former minister of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Chattanooga died in Ridgetop after a lengthy illness. Mr. Adams had been a minister in KY and TN for the past ten years and was minister of First Baptist Church of Ridgetop at the time of his death. He was a graduate of Marion County High School in Jasper, TN and Boyce Bible School in Louisville, KY.
Survivors include his wife, Jan Adams, Two sons, William and Steve Adams, Daughter, Gail Adams, all of Ridgetop, parents, Mr. and Mrs. George L. Adams Both of Chatanooga, brother, Jonathan Adams and two sisters, Mary Southerland of Johnson City, TN and Delores Swarz of Nashville. Services were at First Baptist Church of Ridgetop. Graveside services were in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens with the Rev Frank Witt and Frank Evans. Pallbearers were James Earl Pinson, Jim Hyde, Jim Gamble, Buddy Burk Halter, Joe Hall, Jerry Payne, Ray Rickman and Roy Davis. Funeral arrangements were handled by Cole and Garrett Funeral home in Goodlettsville TN.
