ANDERSON -- Services for Marvin Leroy Allison, 78, of Anderson will be at -- p.m. Friday at the Veterans of Foreign Wars hall in Anderson.
Members of the VFW Post 9650 will officiate.
Burial will be at Anderson District Cemetery.
Mr. Allison died Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at his residence.
Born Jan. 6, 1924, in Clearfield, S.D., he moved to Shasta County in 1945 from Winter, S.D.
He was -- forklift operator for U.S. Plywood Co. in Anderson, -- U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War, -- member of the VFW Post 9650 in Anderson, -- member of the American Legion in Anderson, -- member of the Moose Lodge in Anderson, -- member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners Local Union No. 3074 in Chester and -- member of the Anderson Men's Bowling League.
Survivors include son Michael of Cottonwood; daughters Patricia Allison-Dunlap and Carol Hall, both of Redding, Judy Hester-Reynolds of Tigard, Ore., and Gayle Bennett of Lacey, Wash.; brother Larry of Lincoln, Neb.; sisters Judy Kinnon of Cozad, Neb., Jane Roach and Joan Johnstone, both of Fort McCoy, Fla., and Florence Cole of Witton, S.D.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions can be made to the VFW Post 9650, P.O. Box 831, Anderson, CA 96007.
Arrangements are being handled by Allen -- Dahl Funeral Chapel in Anderson.
