ALLEN
Elijah Allen died at his home east of Kelly Tuesday evening, aged 67 years. He had been afflicted with dropsy for some time past, but it was thought he was improving last week and his children all returned to their homes. Mr. Allen was the father of thirteen children, twelve of whom survive to mourn his death. The remains were laid to rest Thursday in the cemetery at Seneca.-Kelly Reporter.

Senecans will recall a long-haired gentleman who was seen on the streets of Seneca for twenty years or more passed. He used to live in Clear Creek, and nearly every one up there ad between that point knew Elijah Allen, either by name or appearance. Several years ago he moved southeast of Seneca, and for some time had been afflicted with dropsy, and died on the 4th inst. aged 67 years. He was the father of thirteen children, twelve of whom survive his demise. The remains passed through Main street about twelve o'clock Thursday and were laid to rest in the Seneca cemetery.
