James marr(2), Anna Old Fields; parents of Martha Ann; William Scott Wofford; Lewis D. Wofford; Nancy(Hogan)(Wm.Nellis); & Kate Wofford(Davis). His parentage is in dispute: M.Mullen (descendant) cites his father as Benjamin J. Wofford, son of Wm.Wofford, famous pioneer, Georgia. Benjamin is buried at the Wofford site, Bartow Co, Georgia. Another source cites James as the son of Charles Wofford,[a son of Colonel Nathaniel Wofford,emigrant & non-Indian,] & Nancy (Watts)(descend.of Great Eagle,Cherokee Nation).
